Literary worm

I finally managed to finish a book... Isabel Allende's City of Beasts. A bit of a fable set in the Amazon rainforest, and written for kids/teens apparently... still quite enjoyable. And it feels like I've finally reached one helluva milestone and should have a party to celebrate this grand event. I go through phases of reading a lot and then I hit these dry book spells when I just can't get into it. It takes getting through (more like plodding/stumbling through) a book to get me back into it.

Now that I'm all revved up I have a list of books I'm dying to read, but they're all still out in hardback and most of them haven't yet set foot in Thailand including:

Ian McEwan's Saturday
Nick Hornby - A long way down
Kazuo Ishiguro - Never let me go

I haven't even mentioned Harry Potter... that'll be because I haven't even managed to finish the last one yet. I seem to be suffering from Harry Potter reader's block. I must be a freak of nature. I was hoping to find the audio version and listen to it at the gym instead as I've less chance of falling asleep there than I do at the moment coz everytime I pick up the book it seems to send me off into a kind of vegetative state which often results in me waking up drooling. Quite disturbing.

Anyway, I can't wait to get my hands on all them books...
